One World, One Family opens June 7 at the Global Village Museum of Arts and Cultures with free admission from 5-8 pm as part of First Friday Art Walk. The Main Gallery exhibit honors indigenous peoples around the world and their cultures. The photographs and items are from the collections of John Lincoln Baxter, Connie Baxter Marlow, Andrew Cameron Bailey, and Alison Marlow. The display is an intergenerational exploration and celebration of native peoples on this earth. Native American peoples represented include the Hopi, Wabanaki, and Ute. Native peoples of Mexico represented are Tarahumara, Huichol, Lacondon Maya, and Chamulan Maya. Other indigenous groups that are highlighted are the San Bushmen of the Kalahari Desert and the Uyghur people of the Chinese-Tibetan border region. The Museum’s Hall Gallery will feature photographs of Native American objects by David O. Marlow.
