Maxline Brewing is a fantastic local brewery located in Midtown that focuses on craft, community and culture. This brewery has been around for a little over a year and a half and has quickly established itself as a favorite in the Fort Collins brewery scene. They regularly host live music, game nights and food trucks, and of course, they're always serving up their great tasting beer. We were thrilled brand manager, Alisha Lubben, took the time to sit down with us to tell us what Maxline Brewing is all about in this week's community connections.

What do you love about Fort Collins?

Fort Collins is this booming mastermind of creative, determined, progressive and hardworking souls. Collaborative rather than competitive, our community strives to create opportunities for success and a fulfilling life for everyone. We see this example of leadership through the action of local non-profits such as FoCo Cafe and Homeless Gear, the altruistic brewery cultures, and the strong voices of those who participate in public forums for equality and progress. Trails, lakes, and boulders support a healthy and happy lifestyle that permeates into everyone's day-to-day activities.

What are some of your favorite things to do in Fort Collins?

My ideal day in Fort Collins begins with a bike ride to Lucille’s, progresses to an afternoon in Lory State Park followed by a refreshing brew, dinner at Cafe de Bangkok, ending with a night cap enjoying jazz at Ace Gillett’s.

What makes Maxline Brewing unique?

We have the BEST guests; everyone who visits the taproom feels like family. We share ideas, game nights, holidays, brews, laughs, and empowering communion. There are no offices, so we are able to constantly soak up feedback. We didn’t build this culture, our patrons continue to do so.

What is the story behind how Maxline Brewing started?

Kevin and Cathy dedicated years to locating and securing our location. During this time, they built relationships, gained inspiration from numerous taprooms, and began building the framework of the brewery family. Kevin’s 20 years of homebrewing and engineering experience paired with Cathy’s management and design experience fueled the project.

Tell us about yourself...

I was transplanted from South Dakota to Colorado in 1997. Moving from Johnstown to Fort Collins in 2009 opened up a lot of opportunities. I began working at Fort Collins Brewery in 2011 where I built skills in event and taproom management, marketing, and team building and leadership. I began my journey with Maxline Brewing January 2016, six months before we opened, as the Brand Manager and have thoroughly enjoyed every challenge, success, and pint since.

What do you want visitors to experience at Maxline Brewing?

We hope that our new friends will enjoy an elevated experience through the beer, brewery family, events, sunny patio, brew house tours, and welcoming atmosphere.
