Beer, bikes and bands. Family-friendly fun, festivals, and a foodie’s paradise. No matter what your ideal weekend entails, we’ve got you covered for your visit to Fort Collins! First things first: Let’s book your home away from home. Whether you’re looking for a historic B&B, a mountain cabin, an accessible hotel, or something a little more off the beaten path, we have the right spot for you and your group!

Day 1: The Great Outdoors

Now that you’ve settled into your weekend home-base, and gotten a lay of the land, it’s time to explore! Fort Collins is home to a huge array of activities for all ages to get outside. Our walking, hiking and biking trails are a great way to get the whole family involved. If you’re looking for a little more adventure or competition, there’s rafting, stand-up paddling and kayaking in the warmer months, and snowshoeing and skiing in winter. Relax on a bird watching expedition or take horseback riding lessons. You could even book a hot air balloon ride and see the incredible Colorado views from a whole new perspective! Plus, wide open spaces like the Rocky Mountain National Park are only a short drive away. Now that you’ve worked up an appetite, make a list of restaurants you’ll want to try while you’re here.

Day 2: Grown Up Fun

If you’re on a couples or adults-only trip, we’re talking to you: Fort Collins Wineries, Cideries, Distilleries and Breweries are famous, and for good reason. (Pro Tip: If you’re into all the beverages, stretch this portion of your trip out to more than one day.) Despite the fact that Fort Collins was a dry town until 1969, we’re known now as producing about two-thirds of all Colorado’s craft beer! Fort Collins brewery events are a famously good time, so if that’s a priority for you, book your trip accordingly. If you’re more interested in just getting a taste of what Fort Collins breweries have to offer, many of them are located within walking or biking distance of one another in our historic downtown.

Bands and beers bonus: Check out the music calendar for when downtown breweries are also hosting live music. Cheers!

Day 2: Family Fun

Every month of the year, every age and every idea of a good time will be thrilled with what’s in store for a day of fun on Fort Collins. We see the sun almost every day, year-round, and as the locals will tell you, we spend a lot of time outdoors, from pools to disc golf and beyond. If you’ve got older kids, let them try their hands at fishing, or take a whitewater rafting adventure they’ll never forget! Kids of all ages love tours of the natural areas of Fort Collins, like The Environmental Learning Center or The Farm at Lee Martinez Park, where they’ll be introduced to the agricultural heritage of our hometown. If you happen to find a rainy day, or the kids are too cold, it’s easy to spend a day indoors at Fort Fun or the Museum of Discovery.Take your time and plan ahead to get everyone’s favorite activities packed into your fun-filled day.

Day 3: Arts and Culture for All

Though you may not realize it, Fort Collins has a deep history as an agricultural hub on the old west. We love hopping on Briney Car 21, the last remaining city streetcar in the west, to get from City Park to Old Town, where you can really feel like you’ve gone back in time (or you can enjoy a First Friday Art Walk)! While you’re discussing history, why not introduce the your group to the glories of jazz at Ace Gillett's?

Kids of all ages have a great time at Fort Collins Museum of Discovery, while those with a more developed cultural palate can enjoy ballet, symphonies, a variety of touring shows and more, especially between the months of September and May. Whether you’re looking to bond with buddies with an escape room challenge, take in some gorgeous artwork, or spend a night at the theatre, a visit to Fort Collins will exceed your expectations.
