AMY QUERIN/ ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

Amy Querin received her Master of Fine Arts in dance performance and choreography from Texas Woman’s University, where she also maintained a teaching position and directed the Pilates Studio.  Amy also holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and a Bachelor of Arts in French from Columbia College, South Carolina.  Although she grew up in a ballet company, Amy found a new love in contemporary dance while traveling in Europe. Since then, she has been fascinated with the study, teaching and performance of various stylistic forms in dance.  She has presented her choreography internationally as well as around the US through festivals as an independent choreographer.  As a freelance performer, she has had the opportunity to work with many dance artists and companies, including works by Jeanne Mam Luft of Mam Luft & Company Dance, Brooke Schlecte of Out on a Limb Dance Company, Michelle Dexter of Perpetual Motion Modern Dance, Sarah Gamblin, formerly with BeBe Miller Company, Meghan Cardwell-Wilson, performer of Muscle Memory Dance Theatre, Christian VonHoward of Von Howard Project, Susan Douglas Roberts, founding director of Contemporary Dance Fort Worth, Lisa Wheeler, Julie Bata (Mousso: an african experience), Michael Foley of Michael Foley Dance, Doug Elkins of Doug Elkins Dance, Colette Stewart, Rosane Chemecki & Andrea Lerner of ChemeckiLerner Dance, and dance-for-camera work by Rachel Johnson of Bell House Arts. She has been a performing member of The Power Company, South Carolina (rehearsal director), Tyer & Co. Dance, Texas (co-artistic director), DanceWorks, Texas, and founded the fresNO dance COllective in the San Joaquin Valley of California in 2010.  During her summers, Amy enjoys attending dance workshops; previous workshops have included San Francisco’s Inside ODC’s Summer Intensive (invitation only) & Janice Garrett and Dancers, Texas’ Dallas Black Dance Theatre, and Maine’s Bates Dance Festival (merit scholarship).  Amy teaches in the dance programs at Willow International and Fresno City College; she is also a currently a private and group Pilates Mat & Reformer Trainer. {image Joe Osejo}

SPENCER RUELL/ AERIAL ARTS DIRECTOR

Spencer first appeared as a dancer for The Miss California Pageant. In order to escape the oppression of the world of pageantry he accepted a spot in the scholarship program at The Edge PAC in Hollywood, where he studied many stylistic forms of dance, including ballet, jazz, and contemporary. Due to a lack of melanin and an apprehension towards aesthetic surgical procedures, he left LA. After various flashy revue shows though out the Atlanta, Indian and Pacific oceans through Carnival Cruise and PGT Entertainment (Princess World Cruise), Spencer is now based out of Fresno, CA where he continues his performing and choreographic pursuits. He has danced with Shirley Winters Ballet and the Central California Ballet, with notable roles such as The Nutcracker’s General, Arabian and Mouse King. Spencer performed with Altered Modalities under Martha Kelly-Fierro 2006-2010 and performed 2 seasons with fresNO dance COllective, where he also served as Guest Choreographer (NOCO ROGUE SHOW 2012) and Aerial Arts Director (since 2011). {image ROGUE festival}
